Oak Island Tourism Society – Annual General Meeting
The fifth annual general meeting of the Oak Island Tourism Society was held at the Oak Island Resort, Spa and Convention Center on the 8th February 2007.
The meeting was chaired by director Carol Nauss in the absence of chairman Ken Petrie. The meeting was called to order at 7:45 p.m. with a roll call of four directors and one member in attendance.
The society’s secretary, Yvonne Hennigar, read the minutes of the previous meeting and put forward a motion to accept the minutes as submitted .The motion was second by Carol Nauss. Motion Carried.
Yvonne Hennigar presented the treasurer’s report and made a motion to accept the report as presented. Glenda Redden second the motion. Motion carried.
Danny Hennigar presented an in depth report on the society’s activities of 2006 and an overview of progress to date on Explore Oak Island Days 2007. Danny Hennigar also reported on the progress of the membership status of the society. To date we have 78 paid members of the 121 members from 2006 membership list.
Danny Hennigar moved a motion to accept his reports as presented. Larry Ryan second the motion. Motion carried.
The slate of officers and directors put forward for the 2007 season are as follows:
Secretary/Treasurer: Yvonne Hennigar
Communications/Publicity: Danny Hennigar
A call to the floor for further nominations was made with no new names being added.
Carol Nauss and Larry Ryan will act as auditors for the society’s financial reports for the 2007 season.
A call for new business was made by the chair.
Glenda Redden has agreed to become the third signing officer for the society’s bank account which is held at the Chester Basin branch of the New Ross Credit Union.
The chair asked for a motion to adjourn. Danny Hennigar made the motion.
Meeting adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
