Annual General Meeting
The fourth annual general meeting of the Oak Island Tourism Society was held at the Oak Island Resort, Spa and Convention Center, in Western Shore NS, on February 21, 2006.
Chairman Ken Petrie called the meeting to order at 7: 35 p.m. Total number attending the meeting was nine, six directors, two members and one reporter from Lighthouse Publishing of Bridgewater NS.
The society’s secretary, Yvonne Hennigar, read the minutes of the previous meeting and put forward a motion to accept the minutes as submitted. The motion was second by Carol Nauss and passed with all in favor.
Chairman Petrie spoke in brief of the society’s activities during the previous year. He called upon communications and publicity office Danny Hennigar to present an in depth report on the activities of the 2005 season.
Treasurer Yvonne Hennigar read and explained the financial activities of the 2006 season.
She put forward a motion to accept the report as submitted. The motion was second by Danny Hennigar. The motion passed with all in favor.
Danny Hennigar’s report on membership was as follows to date: 50 members repaid from the record total of 78 members. All members have been notified of annual renewal.

A call to the floor for further nominations was made and Carol Nauss nominated Glenda Redden.
Danny Hennigar second the nomination. The nomination passed with all in favor.
The chairman made a call for auditors for the 2005 financial statements. Carol Nauss and Brett Brown volunteered.
A call for new business was made by the chairman. No issues were brought forward.
At 8:10 p.m the chairman made a call for a motion to adjourn the meeting. Carol Nauss moved the motion to adjourn which was second by Brett Brown.
Meeting was adjourned.
