The Oak Island Tourism Society directors met Thursday, August 4, 2005 at 421 Middle River Road with four directors in attendance.
A motion to accept the minutes of the last meeting as read was put forward by Ken Petrie. The motion was seconded by Carol Nauss. Motion passed.
Lighthouse Publishing approached the society and expressed a desire to produce a multi-media package and CD. The costs would be shouldered by Lighthouse Publishing with a cost recovery split once the CD was ready for publication. Once the initial cost are recovered the CD will become the property of the society.
Carol Nauss made a motion to accept this offer. The motion was seconded by Ken Petrie. Motion Passed. A meeting will be arranged with Lighthouse Publishing to start work immediately on the project.
Letters of proposal were sent to Lunenburg Queens Regional Development Agency and Tourism Heritage and Culture representatives to discuss the funding of an Investors Solicitation Report.
A meeting with the newly elected MLA Judy Streatch took place July 13, 2005 to discuss the O.I.T.S. mandate. Ms. Streatch expressed interest in the O.I.T.S. project and promised to discuss it further with her fellow colleagues.
