Directors Meeting

January 12, 2006

The Oak Island Tourism Society directors met Thursday, January 12, 2006 at 421 Middle River Road with five directors in attendance. Chairman Ken Petrie called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.

A motion was moved, by Carol Nauss, to accept the minutes of the November 17, 2005 meeting as submitted. Motioned second by Danny Hennigar and passed with all in favor.

Danny Hennigar reported the staff of Lighthouse Publishing group continue to make progress toward the competition of the CD multi media package for the society.

Danny Hennigar put forth a motion to accept logo drawing Pantone 110u prepared by the publishing group as the official O.I.T.S. logo. The motion was second by Carol Nauss. Motion passed with all in favor.

Round Hill Pewter of Berwick Nova Scotia is in the final stage of producing a sample of the second edition of the O.I.T.S. medallion.

The 2006 date for Explore Oak Island Day has been chosen for August 12th and 13th at the Western Shore and Area Improvement Association building.

A discussion on using the free standing building at the Wild Rose Park in Western Shore, as a site for a display on Oak Island this summer season was held. Further investigation on costs and pro and cons of this project will be investigated. A meeting with a representative of the Western Shore and Area Improvement Association will be scheduled to answer questions about this possible undertaking.

The date for the annual general meeting has been set for February 21, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. at the Oak Island Resort, Spa and Convention Center. In the event of inclement weather February 28, 2006 has been chosen as an alternate date.

At 8:30 P.M. A motion to adjourn was put forward by Carol Nauss.
