 Directors Meeting July 4, 2006

July 3, 2006 the Oak Island Tourism Society directors met at 421 Middle River Road with five directors present.

The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by chairman Ken Petrie. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and a motion to accept them as presented was put forward by Glenda Redden and second by Carol Nauss. Motion carried.

Glenda Redden put forward a motion to invest a portion of our bank balance in a redeemable term deposit for one year at the New Ross Credit Union Chester Basin Branch at the current rate, provided the funds may be redeemed at any time without a penalty. This motion was second by Carol Nauss and was carried.

Carol Nauss made a motion to proceed with the Explore Oak Island Days treasure map, the motion was second by Danny Hennigar and was carried.

Glenda Redden made a motion for the Oak Island Tourism Society to pay the printing cost of “The Oak Island Code” book and the society to be reimbursed by the three partners, Danny Hennigar, Dave Van Vought, and Darcy O’Connor, each paying one-quarter of the costs. Carol Nauss second the motion which carried.

Carol Nauss made a motion to accept the terms of the contract for production of “The Oak Island Code” book. The motion was second by Glenda Redden and carried.

Current membership numbers: 79 paid

Danny Hennigar gave a brief update on the progress report on the events for Explore Oak Island Days. Confirmation to hold walking tours for the public on Oak Island August 11, 12, and 13 has been received.

Advertising and expenses regarding Explore Oak Island Days were discussed.

A call to adjourn was made by the chairman at 9:10 p.m. Danny Hennigar moved the motion.
