The Oak Island Tourism Society directors met Tuesday, September 20, 2005 at 421 Middle River Road with five directors in attendance.
Lighthouse Publishing approached the society and expressed a desire to produce a multimedia package and CD. Danny Hennigar met with the Lighthouse Publishing representative and supplied a series of photos and film footage for use in production of the media package.
A letter of acknowledgment, regarding the proposal to assist in the funding of an Investors Solicitation Report, was received from Tourism Heritage and Culture. The request is under review.
Ken Petrie moved to have Katherine MacPherson made the third signing officer on the society’s bank account. The motion was second by Carol Nauss. Motion passed.
Fund-raising ideas were discussed. Topics covered was merchandise, medallions with a new design, costume making, and a pirate weekend get away. Research on these ideas is on going and will be discussed at future meetings.
